Micro-tron 9000

I made this model of Micro-tron 9000 from my Buck Trenchfoot comic (which you can read by clicking on the tab above) a while ago. Behold his terrifying visage...

Kirby your Enthusiasm

When I was a kid my parents didn't have a lot of money and selfishly refused to spend what little they had on expensive video games. The first console I got was a Commodore VIC20 (google it) that my cousin gave me (it was at least 8 years old at that point, as was I. Like the VIC20, I was born in 1981). I eventually got a Sega Master System (the original one with the card slot) after a school friend got a Mega Drive 2 and sold me it for 10 pounds. It was a joyous day indeed and I was a die hard Sega fan from then until the day I finally upgraded to an N64. I distinctly remember playing the excellent Wonderboy in Monsterland the same day I got Ocarina of Time.
My first experience of Nintendo games came around the same time I got the Master System. My three cousins all had their own Gameboys and a bunch of different games. I particularly remember playing Link's Awakening, Wario Land and Kirby's Dreamland. As a kid without much experience of games I particularly enjoyed Kirby because it was so easy. Level too difficult? Just fly over the top of it. Struggling with a boss? Find the spot in the boss room where it can't hit you. I think it may have been the first game I ever finished. Since then I have had a real soft spot for Kirby games.
Anyway...recently I've been playing Epic Yarn on the wii, in which Kirby is sucked into a land made of wool and cloth via a magic sock. It's a really great game and I've been playing it with my sister because a) it's 2 player, b) it's 2d, c) it's cute and d) you CAN NOT DIE. These things make my sister happy.
I've had this particular pun in mind for a while (I'm sure I'm not the first to think of it) and thought I'd draw it today. It's just a quick doodle really but I'm pretty happy with it.

The Cabinet of Dr Calamari

Added the first part of 'The Cabinet of Dr Calamari' to the Aristocrab tab above. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger but there should be more coming soon(ish).

Buck Trenchfoot

Just added a short story to the Buck Trenchfoot page above. It's the tale of a loving father obtaining a new microwave for his daughter...in space...
Here's a picture of said father:

Also...I've finished the submission I was working on for Ladies and Gentlemen so I'll be working on some more Buck Trenchfoot stuff for a while. I have an extra page to add to the end of the story I just put up and another story to finish.

Elvis Must Die

I do a bit of design work every now and then. Here's a few examples.

First a logo I did for some friends for a rap project they were working on:

Album artwork for the legendary Ill Phil:

Imaginary Stories #2

After a long wait...issue 2 is finally here (now with even more Hamilton Rook)! Check the tabs at the top to read it in its entirety. I hope you enjoy it.
I really have no idea how long issue 3 will take. It'll be done eventually.

Head City

I'm not sure what this is but I like it. It's been suggested that it's the inside of my head.

One day I will live in a house that is also a robot.

Who is Hamilton Rook?

I've been hard at work on my submission for Ladies and Gentlemen (which is coming along nicely) so haven't put anything up for a couple of days. So while I'm busy with that, here's another preview from the forthcoming second issue of Imaginary Stories, which should be up by this time next week.
Just who is Hamilton Rook anyway?

Brick Denton: Agent of S.H.R.E.W.

I'll be putting the 2nd issue of imaginary stories up in the next week or so when I get time to resize the pages and such. In the meantime here's a preview of the backup story, featuring Brick Denton of the Super-Heroic Rodent Espionage Wing (S.H.R.E.W.).

Ewoks vs Aliens

A friend asked me to draw her an Ewok from christmas so I did this:

Another friend painted me a picture of a dragon in space. I drew her this in return:

(She wasn't in space, the dragon was.)

Ladies and Gentlemen

My good friend Sir. Richard Worth and his colleague the Hon. Jordan Collver are the creators of the fine comics periodical, Ladies and Gentlemen (available at finer comics stores or from the link below). They're currently taking submissions for their third issue which will be an anthology issue. They're looking for writers and artists and will endeavour to pair up any one in need of the other.
You can visit their comics page here: http://waterclosetpress.blogspot.co.uk/. I recommend you do.

I've started working on a story for them and here's a little preview:

Shark and Clown

My friend Tom and I sometimes make weird electronic music under the name 'The End of All Songs'. Our musical alter-egos are Lord Shark the Unknown (me) and The Fireclown (him). I drew these pictures to represent us. There's also a logo I drew that I'm pretty pleased with.
(You can listen to our music here: https://soundcloud.com/the-end-of-all-songs.)

Dragon-bot

I like making robots when I'm bored and have the materials. I posted pictures of the BMO I made further down the page somewhere and I'll put up pictures of my others (based on characters from my comics) later. This one is made from an empty chinese cigarette pack that a friend gave me (it had cigarettes in it at the time) and I kept because it looked interesting. The face is based on her. The rest is mostly card covered in electrical tape.

Young Mogo

Mogo must have been a child once right? If so he was probably kind of like this.

Larvox and Mogo

Larvox and Mogo are my two favourite Green Lantern characters. Larvox because he's so ridiculous, essentially a giant amoeba with arms, legs and flowing ginger hair (try looking for him in any large GL battle scene, he'll be there somewhere), and Mogo because he's a planet. It made perfect sense to me that the two would team up someday. If you check the tabs at the top of the page you can read a short comic I drew about one of their missions together.
As an extra bonus here's some pictures I did of them dressed as other characters, because Mogo may not socialise, but he almost certainly cosplays.

Combat Fighter II

A little late night violence. (It's about 3am but the times on these posts seem to be set to a different timezone)
Combat Fighter is deliberately the most generic name for a fighting game that I could think of.

Unacceptable!

Just drew this. L.O.D.O.K: Lemongrab Organism Designed Only for Killing. Drawing Adventure Time characters never gets old.

Black Adam

Yesterday was Marvel, today is DC. One of my favourite pre-New 52 characters was Black Adam, former nemesis of Captain Marvel turned antiheroic ruler of his own nation. Apparently he's being reintroduced in Justice League but I've yet to see what DC will do with him. It's a shame to lose all the great backstory he had though.
This is a short strip I drew about Black Adam and the perils of sharing a house with people you don't really like. Enjoy.

Moooooon Kniiiiiight....

Marvel have done some weird things with Moon Knight recently, stripping away his multiple personalities (the best part of the character) and violent tendencies and replacing them with the personalities of other existing characters. He was at his best cutting off faces and pinning them to statues of Khonshu and switching  between Marc Spector, Steven Grant, Jake Lockley and his superhero identity. I've drawn a few Moon Knight comics over the years for my own entertainment. This one's my favourite.

(obviously Moon Knight is the property of Marvel Comics and was created by Doug Moench.)
