What if the Fantastic Four were actually a Mariachi band that were accidentally sent into space and bombarded with cosmic radiation. Blessed with uncanny abilities they became Los Cuatro Fantasticos!

Pints, Pencils and Pandas

It's been a while since I updated this so here's a bunch of stuff that I've been doing.

First up, my entry for Pints and Pencils yesterday. I won £20 to spend at Travelling Man for drawing Iron Man as a jellyfish.

Next a drawing of Barry the Insomniac Dragon from Seth and Ghost that I did for a friend who likes dragons. This is also the first time I've drawn him with anything other than his head and arms showing. I'm quite happy with the design.

Ghost Foetus: Chapter 4

The fourth chapter of Ghost Foetus, and the end of this first stage of the story is now here.
I'm going to take a break from the adventures of Amy and myself for a while and work on finishing the Hamilton Rook story that I started in the two issues of Imaginary Stories. Don't worry though, I will return to Ghost Foetus soon enough.

I thought I was going to have a break from drawing after finishing the Seth and Ghost book last week but instead I drew the third chapter of Ghost Foetus.

Steve the Brick in: A Tale of Two Bricks

Continuing the Steve related oddities, here's a story by Sam Ridler of Giraffic Park fame, coloured by me.

This is Sam's first foray into multi page stories and its pretty awesome.

Make you own Steve!

Hey folks, why not craft your own Steve action figure? It's easy if you follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Select a suitable brick (You'll want one with an indentation in the top). Give it a good clean with warm soapy water, perhaps in a large plastic bucket, and dry it off. It should look something like this:

Step 2: Using a pencil or other suitable drawing device, sketch out Steve's face at one end of the brick. If you don't know what his face looks like, look at a face and copy it.

Once he has a face you can give him a name. Steve.

Step 3: Use white paint (and a brush) to fill in Steve's eyes. Use red paint (and the same brush, after cleaning with water) to fill in the tongue. A black marker is perfect for the eyebrows and the black part of the mouth.

His lack of pupils is disturbing, but don't be scared, it's just a brick.

Step 4: Once the paint is dry, edge the eyes with the black marker and add some pupils to make him less terrifying. Your Steve the Brick action figure is now complete!

Step 5: Place your completed Steve action figure (not suitable for small children or the mentally unsound) with your other Seth and Ghost figures and attempt to come to terms with his constant, cheerful gaze.

He's happy because he loves you!

Pints and Pencils 5/6/14

I've not had a lot of time to draw much other than the Seth and Ghost book (which is nearing completion) for the last couple of months but last night was Pints and Pencils so here's a few little treats from there.

First up my entry for the competition. The brief was to draw a beloved childhood character in a horrible, messed up form. I didn't win but have arranged to trade the picture with Will for a copy of Hip Hop Family Tree, a book I've been wanting for a while now.

Before I drew the Turtles, I started a Thundercats picture but it didn't really end up messed up enough. The idea was to draw them as really rough looking stray cats but it didn't turn out that way. I still quite like it though.

When things were winding down Will was talking about a safari park where the monkeys got so inbred they had to get rid of a lot of them. He described the kind of monkey he imagined seeing there and I drew it.

Finally, Sam of Giraffic Park fame, was back at P&P after a couple of months absence. I drew him a giraffe because he was drunk and had forgotten how to draw them.
