Steve the Brick in: A Tale of Two Bricks

Continuing the Steve related oddities, here's a story by Sam Ridler of Giraffic Park fame, coloured by me.

This is Sam's first foray into multi page stories and its pretty awesome.

Make you own Steve!

Hey folks, why not craft your own Steve action figure? It's easy if you follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Select a suitable brick (You'll want one with an indentation in the top). Give it a good clean with warm soapy water, perhaps in a large plastic bucket, and dry it off. It should look something like this:

Step 2: Using a pencil or other suitable drawing device, sketch out Steve's face at one end of the brick. If you don't know what his face looks like, look at a face and copy it.

Once he has a face you can give him a name. Steve.

Step 3: Use white paint (and a brush) to fill in Steve's eyes. Use red paint (and the same brush, after cleaning with water) to fill in the tongue. A black marker is perfect for the eyebrows and the black part of the mouth.

His lack of pupils is disturbing, but don't be scared, it's just a brick.

Step 4: Once the paint is dry, edge the eyes with the black marker and add some pupils to make him less terrifying. Your Steve the Brick action figure is now complete!

Step 5: Place your completed Steve action figure (not suitable for small children or the mentally unsound) with your other Seth and Ghost figures and attempt to come to terms with his constant, cheerful gaze.

He's happy because he loves you!

A few random pages and things from the Seth and Ghost book I'm working on have been being used by Borderline to promote the book and I thought I'd collect them here along with a couple of other bits.

Seth and Ghost's Super Reality Adventure & Activity Book

This is probably going to be the cover to the Seth and Ghost book, maybe with a couple of little tweaks. I've been talking to the publisher today about a couple of ideas and am getting pretty excited about the project. Can't wait for you all to see it.

Steve the Brick in 'Erosion Explosion'

A while back my friend Sam drew a picture of Seth, Ghost and Pyramid Cat in seventies disco clothes for me. It was pretty special.
Last night at Pints and Pencils I asked him to draw a Steve the Brick story and he came up with this (I added some colour).

I genuinely love this. Is Steve sad because he's been alone for 500 Years? Is it because he's lost one of his corners? Is it that the brown blob thing in front of him in the first picture is gone? Is it because it's still raining?

Between this and Will's Ghost Foetus drawing I've had some really cool 'fan' art recently. I'm still waiting for another friend to draw me a Ghost Foetus picture but if you draw (or don't) and would like to draw something for me with one or more of my characters you would make me very happy indeed.
